I'm getting this error:

swfError

Based on other posts for previous versions, I removed any special characters from my closed captioning. This included ? and %. I'm still getting this error. I'm using Windows 7 and Captivate 2017.

Do you run Captivate as Administrator?

Yes, I do.

Problem is that that warning message can have different causes. It can be that you are using names that are not acceptable. But it could be something totally different as well. Did you try to restart Captivate and republish? Are you publishing only to SWF or to the combination SWF and HTML5? I learned not to do the last scenario anymore since CP9.

You could clear the cache (while the project is open, so that its cache is preserved).
