SWF File won't Play

I'm currently trying to create a remedial class in Moodle. We are using Adobe Captivate 2 to create example slideshows. Luckily for me, some of the material has been created in D2L. There are Flash items in a D2L course that I can use for my course.

Bottom line...I'm trying to copy some pre-created SWF files from another source and paste them into Captivate 2 to create a slideshow.

I've downloaded the SWF files from their original folders and saved them on my hard drive. Then I've clicked "Insert Animation Slide" and selected one of the SWF files. When I play the slide, I get nothing.

I can't figure out what's happening? Any suggestions?

Thanks! Tami

Rick,

I've emailed you one of my SWF files I'm having trouble with! Let me know if you have any success.

Thanks,
Tami

Ok Rick, I'm not trying to be difficult! www.yousendit.com requires an email address. If you'll give me your email address, I'll send you the SWF file for you to look at.

Thanks,
Tami

Hi Tami

Not sure why are are averse to something requiring an E-Mail address. But to each his/her own. ;)

Sure. Send the file to rstone75 (at) kc (dot) rr (dot) com.

Hi Tami and welcome to our community

How are you "playing the slide"? Are you using F3, Preview > Play this slide, or maybe the Spacebar or even the little icons in the Timeline area? If so, try previewing a different way. Try pressing F4 or F12 to preview the entire project.

Cheers... Rick

Rick,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, that didn't solve anything.

When I insert the Animation Slide, I get a box. Inside the box it says: Animation 720 x 393 x:0, y:73.
It looks like it's there, but it doesn't play.

Any other suggestions?

Tami

Hi again Tami

It's possible that the .SWF you are trying to use was constructed in a manner that Captivate either doesn't like or doesn't understand. I'd be happy to see if it works on my end if you want to ship me the .SWF. rstone75 (at) kc (dot) rr (dot) com if you want me to try it.

Cheers... Rick
