SWF Preview and recording audio

In Captivate 6, I inserted a recording slide in my project without narration. Now, I need to record the audio to the slide. When I open the audio recording window and check the box to enable the SWF preview, the preview begins playing automatically, making it impossible for me to record the audio in sync with the demonstration. I watched a tutorial of a gentleman using this feature, and his playback did not begin playing until his recording began. Is there a setting that configured improperly that I can't find, or something else? Thank you!
