Symbols next to Captions, Subtitles and Titles

I notice when I create a new content slide the Titles, Subtitles and captions have symbols to the left of them.

Does this make these particular titles, subtitles and captions special? Any special features when the symbol is there?

When I create a caption using the text button, I do NOT get that small symbol on the left.

    I suspect you are using the Placeholders that are on the content master slides, those have a symbol, a dash in between two brackets.

    Placeholders have been set up in the theme with a specific style, location, size. It is to preserve the design consistency. However they also have some limitations: you cannot just copy/paste such a placeholder. If you don't use it, but use another text container (caption or shape) inserted with the big buttons, those placeholders will not show up when previewed/published. Only when you type in custom text, they'll be visible.

    So sorry Lily.  Yes.  I did forget to upload the graphics.

    When I go into the master slide and check out one of the content slides, on the upper right area of the text boxes? placeholders?, I see tiny symbols. I don't see them in the regular non-master slide view.

    I explained that those are symbols to indicate 'placeholders'.

    Hi there

    Can you post a screen capture of what you are seeing?

    Normally when you see a symbol, it means something is "off" with the font intended. Perhaps it's not present on your system or some other factor.
