System Sound Recording macOS Sierra Captivate 9

Hi There,

the situation is that we have a MacBook Pro 15" Retina with macOS (Sierra) and Captivate 9 and are not able to record system sounds.

Does anybody else uses macOS Sierra and Captivate 9 who is able to record system sounds?

We are able to record sound through the microphone but nothing else.

Checking with SoundFlower but found out that the last update has been 8 month ago, the installation of this software did not give me any options in Audio settings of my mac so it is probably not compatible with macOS. (GitHub - mattingalls/Soundflower: MacOS system extension that allows applications to pass audio to other applications. )

When:

File>Record new Software Simulation then system audio box at the bottom is ticked but grayed out.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,

Jannis

If you're under a time crunch to be productive, you may be better served by verifying the Mac OS that Captivate 9 was shipped under. Adobe hasn't released an update since Mac OS Sierra was announced or shipped.

You could install the earlier OS on an external drive, boot from it, and install Cp 9 to create a workable authoring station; depending on how far back you go - you may still need SoundFlower, or some other tool.

"Checking with SoundFlower but found out that the last update has been 8 month ago.."

You'll likely find it takes a few more months for the Applications and OS Extensions (SoundFlower) to be updated following a major release.
