Question

Tabs widget font glitch?

In Captivate 9, I've added a Learning Interaction > Tabs Widget (the second from the left in the top row). When customizing, I have a checkbox option for "Scale text for responsive projects". According to the on-screen hint, if I set the font size for what I'd like on the desktop, the rest of view sizes will be resized appropriately. I've tried setting the content text to 20pt, but the text is rendered as very small for all views. If I de-select the check box, I can set the desktop font size to be legible, but the other views are also large. The same behavior occurs no matter the actual font. At this point, I've de-selected responsive project text scaling and used a compromised font size.

Is there something I'm missing?

Hi,

Since the Scale Text option is meant to scale the font down for smaller views (eg. Mobile) so that all the content can fit properly in smaller dimensions, the font size in your Mobile is scaled down to 10pt

Is this the behavior you are seeing, or is there a different issue?

Thanks,

Mohana

Thank you for the reply, mohandas. I've tried selecting various sizes of the font, but the same small size shows identically in desktop, mobile, and tablet. Here are some screenshots. We will not be using the 360view as-is, but I haven't made any changes for now. I have also verified the Scale text for responsive projects view is checked.

Hi,

The size of the font also depends on the width of the interaction. If you interaction is lesser than the size of the slide in Desktop view, that may be causing you to see a smaller font size, since the interaction scales font according to the Viewport width.

Can you try using the interaction as full screen (e.g  completely covering the slide) and let us know if you still see the problem?

Thanks,

Mohana

Which font did you use?

Thanks for the reply, Lieve. I tried several, including Myriad Pro and Tahoma before settling on Arial.
