TEBs during Custom recording

Hello!  I'm working on a custom recording, where the user is expected to see some instruction in the form of a text caption, and then actually go do the action (click or type something in)

To achieve this, I go to the Settings/Preferences for Recording Modes - Custom and choose to include Text Captions, Click Boxes, and Text Entry Boxes.

Keystrokes and Hear Keyboard Tap Sounds are turned off/unchecked.

Then I record, which among other things involves typing in short pieces of text in several spots.

The captions and the click boxes show up fine in the .cptx

The text entry boxes never seem to, no matter how many times I reset the settings, restart, etc.    The slides in the cptx just go from what the screen looked like before typing, and then what it looked like after typing.

It's easy enough to work around when editing the file, but it would sure be nice to get those TEBs inserted automatically.

Have I missed something? I searched forums and found a very old thread that seemed to talk about the same thing, but it seemed to have no resolution.
