Testing out CAPTIVATE CLASSIC IMPORT (BETA) and screen freezing at very first step

I updated to All New Captivate 13.1.1 today and want to try out the CAPTIVATE CLASSIC IMPORT (BETA) feature but I can’t get beyond the initial splash screen which just sits saying IMPORTING YOUR PROJECT - the thing is I haven’t even told it which project I want importing yet - is this a known issue?   Thank you in advance.

I had a similar experience and it happened because the version I had downloaded it was 13.1.0 not the 13.1.1.

I redownloaded the file and removed the old copy before I launched the EXE file, that worked and I am able to upload Classic projects in the new 13.1.1, keep it mind that it will take a few minutes to load the entire project, that will depend on the amount of assets the application needs to load, any fonts or animations that you used in the classic version. Most of the ones I had worked and the ones that do not, I can apply again using the interactive features. Hope this helps Laura

    Hi @Laura Cee ,

    Please try below steps:

    Suggestion 1:

    Close all the Adobe applications
    Go to "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Adobe\Adobe Captivate"
Rename the folder from Adobe Captivate to Adobe Captivate.old
Relaunch Adobe Captivate 3.1 from the start menu, now try to use “Captivate Classic import feature” and check.

    Suggestions 2:

    Close all the Adobe applications.
    Go to "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe"
Rename the folder from "eLearning Assets" to "eLearning Assets.old"
Relaunch Adobe Captivate, now try to use “Captivate Classic import feature” and check.

If it still does not work then please drop an Email to captivatehelp@adobe.com and we will reach out to you.

    Thanks,

Thank you for the suggestions - unfortunately neither work, I still just get the spinning circle of doom and never get the opportunity to pick a file to import.  I will reach out to the email address given as advised.  Thanks again

    Hi @Laura Cee ,

Can you please go to: C:\Users\[username]folder\AppData\Local\Adobe\Adobe Captivate\13_1 and check if creates a file firstFeatureLaunch.txt when you click on CP Classic import option.

    Thanks,

Try taking out any features not supported by the new Captivate from the Classic file first.

The thing is I don’t even get to a screen where I can choose my Classic file!
