Text boxes not displaying when previewing or publishing

I did look at the timeline and I removed all the other interactive objects pausing the timeline but it didn't work. Even before previewing the images and text boxes were not displayed on the main slide. They just dissapeard.

Since you mention that you are new to Captivate, I'm going to say that the most probable 'cause' for the issue you describe is that new Captivate developers often do not understand that interactive objects on the timeline have a pause point and when the timeline reaches that object at run-time the timeline stops.  Objects placed on the timeline AFTER that point are not then seen until the timeline is allowed to continue again.

So, take a good look at your timeline layers in Edit mode and look for any buttons, text entry boxes or other interactive objects that might be pausing the timeline.  If you haven't already done so, turn on the playbar so that you can see whether or not the timeline is moving or paused at runtime.

Which version are you using? Please give the full version number as you can find under Help, About Captivate. Which OS?  By 'text box', do you mean a text caption, a shape used as caption or a Text Entry Box? Which font is used in its object style? Is this a responsive or non-responsive project? 

You talk about Preview: which method did you use?

After publishing: did you upload to a webserver or a LMS?

For both preview and publishing: which browser?

Can you post a screenshot of the slide timeline whereyou have those problems?
