Text captions are not automatically added

I am new to Captivate 9, but somewhat experienced with Captivate 7. I'm playing around trying to get used to v. 9. When I record a software simulation with all three modes selected (demo, training, and assessment), no text captions, hints, error messages, etc. are being created in any of the three modes. I have not changed any of the default settings for the modes. Anybody have an idea why???

I wanted to post an update on the issues I was having with Captivate 9. After spending a LOT of time trying to figure them out, I finally threw up my hands and decided to uninstall and reinstall the application. Magic! All my problems were solved. For anyone else having similar or other intractable issues, if you decide  to reinstall, be sure you close EVERY application before doing so. That is in the ReadMe file, which of course I didn't , and that may have been my issue. Hope this helps someone.

Can you check the exact version number? Latest version is 9.0.2.437.

If you are on Windows, do you activate the option 'Run as Administrator'?

Yes, I have the version you indicate is the latest. I haven't tried launching Captivate as an administrator today - I tried it yesterday because it was suggested for another issue, and it had no impact whatsoever. But I can try that again for this issue.
