Rick,
Thanks for your advice.
I just checked the presentation and recording settings they are the same. I checked it in both preview mode and published mode and the same thing keeps happening.
I even set the slide length for a longer time, just in case there was some fade in fade out issue that might be 'glitching' the system. I still get the washed out text. When I say washed out I mean the text is about 3 or 4 shades lighter than the pallette colour I picked. I even tried typing in the colour number in case there was a problem there.
Rod,
The slides are all set to high quality. It is a default setting we use on all our slides. If we experience an issue with something we would then dial it down if necessary. We have been with Captivate since 4 and have never had to change that setting; however I will give that a try and let you all know what happens.

Ok I checked everything I can think of and it seems to be in order.
However I tried another text box and the fonts worked perfectly in it. The only thing I can think of is that the program just 'chucked a wobbly' when I chose the initial text box.
In future I shall try that first if something is playing up. Maybe I hust worked the program too hard yesterday
Thanks for your help guys
Cheers
