Text entry box in Captivate 5.5

When I put a text entry box into a form to get users to complete certain fields, the colour of the text 'washes out'

I have my text set to Verdana with black font; however it displays as Verdana with a gray font when the activity is run.

I have tried changing font name, style, colour and size but it always displays as a washed out gray colour.

Is anyone else having this issue and is there someone who may be able to shed some light on this issue.

cheers

    Rick,

    Thanks for your advice.

I just checked the presentation and recording settings  they are the same. I checked it in both preview mode and published mode and the same thing keeps happening.

I even set the slide length for a longer time, just in case there was some fade in fade out issue that might be 'glitching' the system. I still get the washed out text. When I say washed out I mean the text is about 3 or 4 shades lighter than the pallette colour I picked. I even tried typing in the colour number in case there was a problem there.

    Rod,

The slides are all set to high quality. It is a default setting we use on all our slides. If we experience an issue with something we would then dial it down if necessary. We have been with Captivate since 4 and have never had to change that setting; however I will give that a try and let you all know what happens.

    cheers

Ok I checked everything I can think of and it seems to be in order.

However I tried another text box and the fonts worked perfectly in it. The only thing I can think of is that the program just 'chucked a wobbly' when I chose the initial text box.

In future I shall try that first if something is playing up. Maybe I hust worked the program too hard yesterday

    Thanks for your help guys

    Cheers

Is there any fade in or fade out transition set for these text entry boxes?

Have you checked the font slide for the text entry object in the Object Styles Manager?

    Thanks for your advice Rod.

I should have mentioned that I checked for fade in fade out in the entry boxes but this is turned off. I am having an issue with that elsewhere.

I checked the Object Styles Manager as you have suggested and it is set to no transition as well.

I still get the washed out text, its as though the program hasn't registered that I have changed the font colour. No matter what colour font I use it still comes up washed out in that colour. For example red comes up a pale red, blue a pale blue etc.

    Thanks anyway Rod

    Hi there

Are you perhaps presenting the final output at a different size than it was when you recorded it? For example, when you recorded was it possibly 1024 x 768 and you are viewing it at a totally different size? If so, perhaps the size difference is accounting for the issue.

I might think one way to tell would be to simply preview in the Browser. Does the same thing happen when previewing in the browser?

    Cheers... Rick
