Question

text on timeline is showing

Hello,

This may be really obvious, but I'm still quite new to Captivate, and I'm baffled. I've created a slide with an MP4 set to play automatically. Under the video window, I've added text to fade in and out at different point on the timeline. In Preview, 'Play Slide' the video doesn't play, but the text does fade in and out according to the timing. However, if I try to preview selecting, 'From this Slide, or the Browsers,' the video plays, but there's no sign of the text. Could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Much appreciated,

Liz

It seems that you already used some real Preview options. Can you post a screenshot of the timeline? I suspect that you have a pausing point before the text timeline, which prevents the text from fading in.

It seems that my suspicion proves to be correct, because you do have a pausing point very early in the timeline.

The Play Side is just running the timeline in Edit mode so that you can see how the timing works.  It's not publishing anything really and for your situation you really DO need it to publish.

You need to use one of the other Preview options that actually publish out the content in order to test it properly.

I have tried the publishing and the text isn't showing up.
