text speech pauses resumes

I have some text to speech recorded and noticed something while previewing "HTML5 in Browser". If I navigate to the next slide while "James" is still talking, then go back, it seems "he" has paused at the moment I left and resumed from that point. I would think the narration would start from the beginning. Any "feature" or fix for this?

Thanks.

Hm, the first release which was bit buggy. Can you install the patch released couple of months ago to 9.0.1.320?

I will double-check if this also happens for me but I am on 9.0.1, feels bit weird. Is the audio clip (TTS) starting at the first frame of the slide? It is a good practice to move it a little bit further.

I cannot repro your issue. I checked in a file in 9.0.1.320, Preview HTML5 in Browser. The slides had TTS audio clips. When navigating to a next slide and coming back, the slide started at the beginning, and since it is slide audio, the audio started from the beginning as well.

OK - so what do you normally do - just check the Updates every couple weeks or so?

I'm so busy everywhere with Captivate that I always see when a patch/upgrade is released. Then I try to help to spread the message...

It doesn't happen as often as with CC applications, which are updates very often. Except for an urgent hot fix, expect about one upgrade and maybe one patch a year.

One question, why does Adobe make you launch the update from Captivate rather than Creative Cloud? Took us a while to find it.

Because Captivate is not included in the Creative Cloud at all. It is in a totally different department, same as Framemaker, RoboHelp etc..

It has sometimes advantages as well? Maybe you heard that the trial period for CC is got decremented from 30 days to 7 days? That is NOT the case for Captivate

Update 9.0.1.320 worked - the audio files are behaving correctly now.

    Thank you!

Can you tell which version you are using? Exact number, please? Since you mention 'Preview HTML in Browser', I suppose you are working on a blank, not a responsive project.

    9.0.0.223, blank project.
