Text-to-Speach Challenge

I am having the same problem, I have Julie installed also and it always uses Sam; this happens even when it is selected above and to the side of the text being converted by the engine.  I am evaluating this software and the NeoSpeech voice for our government division for its merits and usefulness in the GIS training environment; a quick resolution to this would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a way to remove Microsoft Sam voice?  I would like to only have the other 2 voices: Paul and Kate and find that Sam's voice is very annoyting

I had the same problem. Although I set Paul's voice, Captivate used Mircrosoft Sam's voice. Here's what I figured out:

When you go into the Speech Management dialog and select Paul as voice, make sure that also below in the notes Paul is listed. The following screenshot shows you, that Paul's voice is selected but below still Microsoft Sam is listed(on the right side)

Just double-click the notes area (sometimes several clicks are needed) until Captivate takes over Paul as voice.

Click the Generate Audio button. Now you should here Paul instead of Sam
