Question

Text to Speech clipping final word even with timeline pause

I have problems with some slides having the ending word clipped while others are fine.  You can hear enough of the final word to understand it, but it doesn't sound as high quality as I would like.

I hoped I could fix the clipped ending syllables by adding space at the end of the slide, as shown here, but the problem persists.  I am using just Kate's voice.  Has anyone fixed this problem using the timeline?

Iv had this same problem many times and have found a work around that i use all the time. Double click the audio track to edit it, then zoom in all the way, and add .1 seconds of silence at the end. You need to make sure there is the smallest piece of waveform at the end of your silence or it will not save, but you can highlight this last piece of audio and decrease the volume by -10 Db. Hope this helps.

    Hi There,

We have recently released an update to Adobe Captivate 5. Please update your version(Help -> Updates) to avoid such issues in future.

Did you solve this problem? I'm having the same issue, and have tried the same thing as you did on the timeline.  Have you tried double clicking on the sound wave in the timeline to edit the audio? You can add seconds at the beginning and end of the audio - but it doesn't seem to save the seconds and I have to keep reentering it?

    Hi there,

One of the workaround i can suggest is to change the start time of the audio by 0.1-0.2 seconds. This way the audio should play fine with the stream.

Can you share your project, as it can help us with the investigations ? If yes, Please upload the project in acrobat.com and share the download link with me. You may email the link to ashwin at adobe dot com.
