Hi all! I am looking for instructions on how to make text to speech a selection when I am selecting the audio functionality as part of a project.

  • I have downloaded the text to speech package
  • I am selecting the text in my project and do not have the option for text to speech

What am I missing any troubleshooting steps?

I am using the most recent version of Captivate.

You will find the instructions under the heading on this page: Generate Text to Speech

Thank you for sending over, I have used those instructions for text to speech, the issue is I am not seeing the "Generate the Text to Speech" selection from the Import Audio.

I have installed the Adobe_Captivate_Voices_LS21 package and am still not getting that selection in the Import Audio field. Does the voices package need to be saved in a certain location. Any troubleshooting instructions you can provide?

To me that would tend to indicate that you may not have correctly installed the voices and that's why the option does not appear.

One thing to look out for with Captivate's install packages is that some of them have a two stage installation.  The first park just unpacks all the files from the compressed archive.  You then need to find where they have been uncompressed (usually to a folder on your desktop) and then run the installation from within that folder.

If that's what is happening here, look for an extra folder somewhere on your desktop and see if there is a setup.exe or something similear inside it.

If not, please try running the installation again but do not change any of the default settings.
