Question

Text-to-speech language choices & translating notes and CC

Hi

I'm an old Captivate 4/5 user but for the last 4 years have used Storyline 2 due to a company change.

I have a couple questions I'm hoping to get answered please.

1) Translating notes and closed captioning - is there a way to export like in Storyline which generates a Word document with 2 columns with ALL text? Both onscreen, notes and CC? I've read you can do it via XML, but I can't send an XML file to my foreign stakeholders and ask them to translate in that. A Word output file would be much easier.

2) TTS - Once notes/CC are translated (through whatever method), are there other languages that Captivate supports like Portuguese or Spanish or Japanese? If they are paid for, that's fine, but it needs to be able to be done as easily as the English voices are to generate.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

First question:.StoryLine took that work flow from Captivate, was also in

version 5..Use File, Export, captions and closrd captions to Word.

You'll have to buy voices in other languages, TTS work flow remains same if

those voices are accessible on your system.

Thanks.

1) I never used the functionality in Captivate before But I've just tried it and I only get this option: Export - Project Captions & Closed Captions. But it never generates the slide notes or closed captions, just the on screen text.

2) So if I buy any TTS and install it, it will show up as a voice option in Captivate? Or do I need to install somewhere specific?

Does anyone have any suggestions where to buy other TTS voices?

It should generate CC. Not slide notes.
