textentrybox Reporting to Adobe Connect Captivate 7

Hi All,

First Post. I have added a text entry box to a slide to capture the learners name that I would like to have reported back to Adobe Connect when I run the reports.

I have chosen Validate User Input, using varUserName as the variable. I want it to free text entry to capture the learners name. I have checked the Reporting include in quiz checkbox and have used Advanced interactions.

But when I view the report in the published project Adobe Connect shows nothing. Can anyone help please?

Cannot help you with CP7 anymore, nor with Connect.

However there seems to be some misunderstanding about a Text Entry Box. You wrote that you choose 'Validate User Input', which means you have to add correct answers? Did you link to a database using JS or how did you succeed entering correct answers?

Thanks for your quick response. You are correct that validating a user's entry requires correct answers, but it was the only way I could get the reporting option to be available.

My actual question is what do I use to get a learner to enter their name which then could be tracked back to the LMS in my case currently a trial version of Adobe Connect? I cannot seem to find the answer to what should be a key easy feature of Captivate to find out who is taking the learning. Thanks again.

You did not answer my question: which correct answers for the TEB? You can

have a score for any interactive object like a Next button to be clicked.

Validating TEB is not a good choice if you cannot program to connect to a

database. Can you transfer values of variables?
