The Discover option in Assets > Character is disabled in Adobe Captivate 11.8

OK.  After I left my last posting, I clicked around a bit and got it to work. Not sure if this will work for you and it makes no sense but here is what I did.

1.  Got to Media>Characters.
2.  Click Projects.
3. Click Discover.
4.  Click Downloads.
5.  Click Characters.
6.  Click Discover (link should now be available.)
7.  Pause for a few moments and characters should now populate.

Once you have downloaded them, they are available in the Library but did no show up in Downloads until I did the following:

1.  Click Downloads.
2.  Click Projects.
3. Click Characters.

When switching characters, I had to choose Find in the Library to switch them.  Hope that helps!

I am having the same issue and unable to finish a prodict which used extensive characters due to the problem. I have not been able to find an answer.  So frustrating!  The characters in the "new" Captivate are not useful and so limited as well.

I want to bump this issue to be current since I'm having the same problem - I cannot click "Discover" in the currect Captivate Classic. And I don't have a second PC available to install an older version of Captivate on to get this.
I've looked at the characters in the new version of Captivate, but the selection appears to be pretty limited compared to what I've seen is available via the Discover option in the older Captivate.
Awaiting a helpful response from Adobe...hopefully someone is actually paying attention to posts in this forum and actively looks into the issues that are brought up here.

Another reason to confirm my decision to keep 11.5.5.553 installed on my main system. It is necessary to install 11.8.2 along the new version 12, but I did that on a second PC. Too many bugs in 11.8.2, you just let me discover a new one. Please log this as a bug, I'll do the same.

Strange that I still could access those characters which I downloaded in 11.8.2. Discover however branches to parts of the available resources in the eLearning Community. Is that also the case for you?
