Timeline objects all grey

Hello everyone, 

I'm hoping that someone can offer some guidance on what to do here. I'm working in Captivate Classic 11.8.3 on MacOS 26. My Timeline in the app has recently turned all grey. It still works, but it is very hard to read because everything looks the same. Oddly enough, whenever I go to separate the timeline from the main Captivate window, it will display the expected colors only while dragging the Timeline. Whenever I let it go, it reverts to all grey. 

I have run the preference clearing tool, cleared my cache, reinstalled Captivate, and tested on multiple projects, including demos from Adobe. It stays all grey no matter what I do. Does anyone have any ideas? I have a project that I really need to finish, and it is so hard to use the Timeline like this. See attached photo.
