Question

Timeline synchronisation with audio (Captivate 9, HTML5)

Hello,

I've been having a big of problem with Captivate 9! On my project, every slide has a 30-90 seconds narration. I have to make some images appear at a certain moment in the narration, but as soon as the audio file is longer than 20-25 seconds. Every objects I'm trying to make appear on the timeline doesn't appear and nothing happens. I tried to work around that by switching to another slide with the image visible and splitting the audio, but the slide will not switch to the next one.

Its all works if I test what I'm doing if I do it under 20 seconds on the timeline, goes nuts if it's longer that that. And some times, it does work, but then after it doesn't...Really annoying! I've been trying to find a way to fix that for one and a half day at work, I've trying so much things before realising that the length of the audio was causing the problem! It works if I export in Flash, but not HTML5...

I have no object that is on "pause" on the timeline. I tried with WAV and MP3 files.

Has anyone even seen this? Any ideas how to fix it?

Thanks a lot!

Have no clue, never had that kind of problems. Just a couple of questions:

    1. Are yoy using the latest version of 9 which is 9.0.2.437?
    2. Did you try to clear the Preferences and clean the cache?
    3. Is this an upgraded project or created in the same version?

    Hi!

    1. Yes

    2. Yes. I tried in another browser too, in caxe the browser's cache was a problem

    3. I have not updated Captivate after the project was created

Plus,I have tried to copy all my slides to another projet in case the project file was corrupt and it kept on doing the same

Resetting the Preferences didn't help? Did you run the CleanPreferences file appropriate for your OS, to be found in the subfolder 'utils' of the Captivate installation folder? Clearing the cache can be done from the Preferences within Captivate. I don't understand why you talk about a browser switch for an editing problem?
