TOC Flag not showing

Captivate 9.0.2.437 - publishing to HTML5.

When I have a lesson that utilizes a Quiz at the end, the last topic before the Quiz never shows a Flag checkmark on the TOC even though I have "Status Flag" selected in the TOC Settings and all the other topics show a Flag checkmark.

Yes, I use Topics (or subfolders), so the reset would blow those out. I do finalize my TOC at the end of development, but as the lesson goes through waves of changes, I need to keep an eye on the TOC to make sure it didn't mysteriously morph.

It seems to happen when I add/remove or rearrange slides on the Filmstrip. The TOC seems to get confused - I've seen it happen a lot - so much so that I have to always check it before I Publish.

Use the Reset TOC button when you changed something in the Filmstrip.

I didn't see that rearranging in the TOC myself, but mostly create the TOC only after finishing (with exception of the Theme where I include the colors of the TOC).

When you have to reset the TOC, TOC will use the slide names. If you did arrange the TOC items in folders (maybe subfolders) that will be lost. Grouped slides will automatically be transformed in first level folders in the TOC. That is the main reason why I always create the TOC at the end of a project.

    Hi rChill

I had a similar issue, but finally figured out what was going on. You have to name your pages in the "Properties" section of each page for them to automatically show up in the TOC. Also if you use the reset function it will reset based on what is in the Properties section not what you have manually inputted in the TOC.

    Hope that helps

    Cheers

I figured this out - you need to have a checked page under the checked topic for the flag to work.

On another note - I can't stand the way Captivate automatically re-arranges pages in the TOC - it drives us nuts!

I've never seen Captivate 'automatically re-arrange pages in the TOC'.

Can you please explain more about when this happens?  Normally the only time the items on the TOC would be changed is if you (the developer) hit the small button in the TOC settings to reset and regenerate the TOC after making changes to the slide order.
