Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has come across this issue when you use a shortcut number to progress a click box (click the box or press 1), and only the top row of numbers work but not the number pad - anyone have a work around/fix for this?

Note: I did find something on this but it was from three years ago (and not on the Adobe forums) so I'm 'hoping' there may be a fix now - http://captivateideas.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Text-entry-using-number-pad/112774-11786

I am using Captivate 8.

Thanks!

Nicole

Hi there

One way you should be able to work past it is to duplicate the Click Box. Assign the number 1 from the top of the keyboard to one instance and the number 1 from the keypad to the other instance. Then ensure both Click Boxes are positioned identically.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the reply - I'm trying this out now, only when I change one of the click boxes on the slide to Num-0, it automatically changes the other from 0 to Num-O - looks like you can't have two click boxes with two different number keyboard functions on the same slide... or is there something I'm missing?

I'm on Captivate 8 if it helps.

Hello again

I'm not sure what's up here. Are you by chance on a Mac? If so, maybe Captivate behaves differently in that environment.

I'm using a PC. Specifically, a laptop. And my laptop keyboard does offer a number pad to the right. I tested before posting and it worked for me. Although, in the Shortcut field it only listed 1 regardless of whether I typed it from the keys on the basic keyboard or the number pad. (I used 1 as that was what your initial report said) And I also tested using Captivate version 8.

I do suppose it's possible that either the slide, or the objects or the project itself could have some corruption somewhere. You might try it with a fresh blank project.

Cheers... Rick
