Tracking skill acquisition

I am building a course that will prepare learners to take a licensing exam. The exam covers 4 different domains of information. The course content will cover all 4 domains. There will be many multiple choice quiz questions throughout the course. Depending on which domain the quiz question pertains to, I want the answer to contribute to a total value assigned to a variable to reflect the learner's mastery of that particular domain. So I will have 4 variables, each indicating how well the learner has mastered the content for that domain.

My question is whether and how I can I have answers to MC quiz questions change the value of an existing variable?

I imagine this is a simple issue and hope someone can quickly point me in the right direction.

    Some details are missing in your question. Which version of Captivate do you use (full number), please? Do you need to report the individual scores of each 'domains' to a LMS? If that is the case which LMS fo you use, is it supporting the transfer of user variables? You should know that eadh SCORM-compliant course can have only one quiz, and the results will be stored in the default Quizzing system variables.

    Lilybiri, thanks for your reply. To your questions:

    - I use Captivate v 9.0.2

    - I do not need to report the scores to the LMS

    - I want to use the scores primarily to give feedback to the learner and

    to suggest remedial learning.

    I had a quick look at your blog post and think my answer is probably there.
