Trigger PDF Download within Captivate module

My client requires the learner to download a PDF. I am using Prime so I can add the PDF as a resource. Unfortunately this requires the learner to exit the course to get the PDF.

Is there any way using the "web Object" that I can trigger the download?

    Ok - so I was just reading this again.

    Not sure what the real requirements are here.
    Sounds like they want to download it but don't want to leave the course...?

    If it is downloaded, is it not in someone's downloads folder on the PC?

    I did not have to leave the course to download it but I do have to "exit the course" to go look at it.

    So why not have the PDF as both a content module that they can read in the fluidic player and make it available as a resource to download if they want?

    Sorry I got onto another project.

    So what I need is a PDF File(a resource in prime) to be downloaded to the Learner without them leaving the course.

    This is hosted in Prime as a Certification. Navigation to the Resource is a little more complex from a Certification and I am afraid the learners will get lost. SO! I want it downloaded directly from the course

    I figured it out with some minor issues.

    I used a Web Object and copied the link from Prime. Works perfectly in Chrome. Automatically downloads the PDF to the learners Download folder, In Edge and Explorer and IOS browsers I had to have the PDF open in a new window then the learner can print or save it from there.

    I wish all browsers would behave the same, makes thing complicated for the learner.

    In Prime, under your course settings, you can upload resources.

    They will appear on the right hand side for them to download.

    If I want the user to read a pdf in a course, I will use the command 'Open URL or File', and open the pdf in a new window. You will have to add the pdf to the published folder. You can find an example in this published course (rescalable HTML):

    On the slide 'Typical for...' you'll see two buttons (appearing at the end) which open both a pdf file.
