Question

Truncated recorded area

When I select to create a new software simulation or a new video in Captivate 7, regardless the capture area type I select, always the recorded area does not match, it truncates about 25% of the right side of the recorded area. I have uninstalled and installed twice, the problem continues. I run windows 8.1.

I installed Captivate 7 in a PC running Windows 7 and it works properly, the issue apparently is a compatibility with Windows 8.1. I am using version 7.0.1.237 which includes Windows 8.1 patch, however I still have the truncated recorded area.

    Hello,

    Welcome to Adobe Forums!

Could you please attach a screenshot of the computer screen ?

Could you also tell me the resolution of your computer ?

Have you tried to run Captivate as administrator ?

Does it behaves the same in File > Record new video demo?

    Thanks and Regards

I run Captivate as regular user and administrator user, in both cases it truncates the image.

I selected record new video. Application area. The following is an image of the area I selected.

The following is an image of what is recorded. Captivate recorded area on the left side that I didn’t select, and truncated the right side of the area I selected.

Screen resolution: I used Matrox TripleHead to expand to three monitors. I have installed Captivate 7 in my Lenovo notebook and it behaves exactly the same, truncates the image, therefore it is not the expanded resolution. I installed Captivate in another notebook running in Windows 7 and it works properly; apparently is an issue with Windows 8.1.

It behaves the same regardless from where I start recording the video File > Record new video.

    Thanks for the follow up.
