trying to open PDF in captivate 4

Hi,

I am trying to create a link to a pdf document using the open url or file action in Captivate 4.  My problem is that I will eventually be creating a CD to run this from and whenever I move my files, I can't open the link.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jana

I just tried this 'feature' too.  I knid of wanted to play my swf in player, click the button, and have a pdf file open in another window.  I had to publish and generate a html wrapper, so it launces in a browser.  Then, if I deselect 'Display PDF in browser' from the internet catagory in Acrobat Reader....It works.

Has anyone been able to get a pdf file to open from within Flash Player instead of a browser.

Actually, I tried the suggestion of creating a menubuilder movie and that finally worked but is there another way to do this that isn't quite so cumbersome and that doesn't require having Captivate 3?

    Hi there

I suppose there may be a way to do it by using Flash to create a file that would do it. But I'll have to leave that to a Flashy type person to answer.

I really do wish that we would hear from Adobe on the matter. It's quite perplexing!

    Cheers... Rick

Yes, it is perplexing.  I would think it would be along the same lines as the "open another project" problem they had with it being an absolute link.  Unfortunately even if there is a Flash way to do it, it won't help me since I don't have access to Flash.

    Thanks, though.
