Trying to record a software simulation via remote connection

Question

Source computer is Windows with VPN. Want to record using Captivate on my Mac. Used AnyDesk as my VNC. Captivate appears to be recording simulation with all appropriate "shutter" sounds but output is my desktop background with the mouse paths visible. Have experimented with various screen area/ application; application window/ screen/ custom to no avail. Saw an older post about installing trial Captivate but that is not an option. Suggestions?

Lot of possible causes in your setup. Do you need an interactive simulation? If not, please try to use Video Demo instead of software simulations.
