Hi, my first time posting here. Have had captivate 2 for a while now using 3. While looking for tutorials, I came across this really good site, tutorials are for V2 but relevant. Apologies if you already know about this

    Hi Shirl,

I was not familiar with that particular source of training, Shirl. Thanks for the link.

I think as an overview, the little bit that I had time to visit was at least adequate, and might be very helpful to the newcomer. The *super-limey* accent in the voice-over is a turn off to this Midwestern Yank, which wouldn't be a problem if closed captioning was completed, or alternatively, if text captions were more plentiful - and more thorough.

Still, it is apparently offered *free*, and someone spent a lot of time in bringing this free effort to Captivate users, so I think there are more plusses than minuses. Thanks again!

    Best wishes~

Think that you will find the accent is Scottish, I think he sounds rather nice, bit like the original Sean Connery as James Bond

Love Sean Connery. I thought he was from Minnesota.

Seriously, an accent is a highly subjective criticism, and I hope I didn't offend anyone with the *super-limey* comment. My real point was that the training could be made better by more complete closed captioning. Personally, I get a lot of value from the instruction at Lynda.com. And although the instructors speech at Lynda.com is generally American English, I always turn the CC on so I do not miss anything because of any differences in linguistics, gait of speech, or just the use of an unknown or unfamiliar word or phrase ( unknown to the student, that is).

I really do think you have done everyone a favor in providing the link.

    all the best~
