Unable to Add Text Boxes (Caption Boxes)

A colleague of mine is working with Captivate 3. She is unable to add a text box (caption box) into her file. Her file contains a lot of slides but does not contain any audio.

Does anybody know what the problem possibly could be? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

When you say your colleague's file contains "a lot of slides", exactly how many are there and how big is her project file?

Captivate can become unpredictable when projects get very large, so it could be a file size issue.

    Hi PJLambe

Unsure of the problem. But here are some things to find out.

    1. Where is the project file? (the .CP file) Is it stored on a network drive? If so, copy it to the C: drive and try again.
    2. Is this project specific? Try creating a totally new, blank project. Are they able to add a caption there? If not, it points to a possible issue with the Captivate install that may need addressing. If they are able to add there, it means there is an issue with the project.

Check these out and see what happens.

    Sincerely... Rick
