Question

Unable to get my project to open in IE11

I've been building and using fairly simple Captivate projects for several years. Two recent changes have completely derailed me-- my projects can no longer include Flash, and I need to support a larger audience that includes Internet Explorer users. I have been completely unable to get my projects to open in IE when published as HTML5. These are simple projects-- they won't open at all. Any idea what I am doing wrong?  In the past, I have always been able to use the generated files without hand-editing the files. Do I need to change the way we work?

What are your publish settings, can you upload a screenshot?

Also, are you hosting the content in an LMS? Is this how you are testing for IE?

What is the LMS, and what versions of SCORM, AICC or TinCan are supported?

Can you please provide some more details? Are you on 9.0.1.320? What is your work flow? Did you check Project, HTML tracker? Do you talk about a responsive or a normal project? Which version of IE will be used? IE is certainly not the best HTML-'student'. Moreover it will no longer be developed since Edge appeared.

Yes, I am on 9.0.1.320.  Not sure what you want to know about my workflow-- I develop the materials, publish, and test it on various browsers. Tests out fine on Safari and Firefox. Does not open in IE 11. No errors shown in HTML5 Tracker.  Normal, simple project, just click through Powerpoint slides with audio and a quiz at the end. The module does not open first page in IE11 for any user.

I have been using Captivate successfully but have been dead in the water since we stopped supporting Flash, switched to HTML5, and started testing in IE11. (training developed in previous versions of Captivate with Flash worked fine in previous versions of IE)

For now, I don't have a choice about supporting IE.

My next step is to rebuild my training in Articulate, but being a Mac user myself, I am am loathe to make the switch.

Are you talking about projects created from scratch for HTML output in CP9, or about upgraded projects?

IE supported SWF fully. IE11 is better than previous versions for HTML, so I suspect it is something else which is going awry. May be the setup of IE?
