Unable to import assets

Hi,

I created a new responsive project and tried unsuccessfully to import assets into the project.

Initially, after I selected the asset (project, slide, character), I could see the message "Insert Asset" although nothing happend except for the message being refreshed on the screen. After I restarted my laptop, the "Insert Asset" message didn't appear anymore, and the asset was still not inserted.

Adobe Captivate is installed on MacOS (Monterey), and the account is not personal. I did reach out to our support team, but I am curios is somebody else had this issue and figured out how to fix it.

Thanks,

Beatrice

Which exact version of Captivate are you using? Monterey is only compatible with version 11.8. You can check the full version number under Help, About Captivate.

You are talking about the Asset panel?  A Project can only be opened, not inserted. For the slides, you are talking about the Ready-to-go slides from the Quick Start Projects, correct? I also have issues with Character insert, but I use Win systems.

    Hi Liybiri,

Thank you for a quick reply.

I was refering to the Asset panel. I tried to open a project and to use the Ready-to-go slides from the Quick Start Projects. Please bear with me, I am new to Captivate.

    I have Captivate 11.8.0.

    Thanks,

    Beatrice

Difficult to answer because I am on Windows and use 11.5, which seems to be more stable although I have issues with importing Characters.

I suppose you have a good connection to WWW because everything needs to be downloaded. Was this version originally installed or is it an upgrade?

Can you find the eLearning Assets on your system? The path is different from within Windows, I believe you have to search under Shared documents. Under Content\Templates you find lot of folders with numbers as labels. They have the Quick Start Projects. Try to open one of those folders and find a cptx file. Can you try to open it from within the Finder? Example: you find Rhapsody.cptx - non-responsive version  - under the folder 6139.

Not very user friendly, but could be a temporary workaround. You can open a new project  in a new tab and copy/paste the slides you want to use.

Characters are in their folder, not under Content... bit more complicated.
