Undo the Reset TOC button?

<Captivate 7, WIn 7>

Hi,

I renamed all my Table of Contents slides, grouped them, etc.

Then, when I went to click on the 'Settings' button, I accidentally clicked on the Reset TOC button.

BANG---all my customization of slide titles disappeared.

I tried to Undo via control Z and clicking on Captivate's Undo button. Didn't work.

I closed the ToC without clicking on the little floppy disc icon to save it. When I went back in, the ToC had still reset.

ARGGHHH!

I am going to have to redo all the slide titles and groupings.

In case I accidentally hit the reset TOC button again, is there any way to undo it?

thanks!

Correct answer Sreekanth_S

I am afraid, the answer is no. But from what I have seen only the slide grouping goes for a toss. Slide titles are updated to their new names.

How are you updating the slide titles? Aren't you doing it from Slide > Properties?

Hi,

I edited the titles while grouping them in the Project-->Table of Contents

Oh well, I'll do it the right way, via slide Properties

cheers and thanks

Good practice:

  • Label the slides in their Properties as you want them to be seen in TOC
  • Group slides in the Filmstrip, by selecting them and using right-click menu or shortcut  key CTRL-ALT-G (or equivalent for Mac)
  • Only after finishing everything go into the TOC settings to check: the slide groups will be at the highest level.
  • If necessary add sublevels in the groups in TOC, those cannot be added in the editing area of CP

Try to avoid using the Reset button in TOC if you are working with groups. And don't forget that the 'look' of the TOC depends on the theme you are using.
