Well Hello All

Regarding Click boxes and their related friends, on the Scoring tab there is a little tick box at the bottom next to the points allocated to this interaction. The tick box says "Add to Total". My question is, What does this actually do as I cannot seem to find a difference whether it is on or off. Please help, brain broken

Andrew

    Hi Andrew

Try this. Create a blank project. Then click Quiz > Quiz Preferences... > Settings node and place a check mark in the check box labeled: "Show score at end of quiz". Then click OK. You should now have a blank slide and a results slide.

Add two more blank slides. On each blank slide, insert a Click Box. I placed all mine in the upper left corner of the project. Configure Click Box one for 5 points. Click Box two for 2 points. Click Box three for 3 points.

Preview and click the boxes. The total score should be 10 (5 points + 2 points + 3 points)

    That help? Hope so... Rick

Thanks for the prompt response Rick, much appreciated.

I have read my post again and realised that I probably did not frame my question properly. In essence, what is the function of the "Add to Total" tick/check box in the Reporting Tab of the Click Box Properties dialogue box??

    Many thanks

    Hi again Andrew

    Ahhhh, okay. Gotcha!

Well, on first blush, it would appear this check box controls whether the points are actually awarded. But in use, it seems to do nothing! I tested again with three slides and darned if I can make it influence any behavior whatsoever.

Then I thought I had an epiphany. I thought, hmmm, I wonder if I DE-selected it, that it would prevent the Click Box from being counted among the "Number of questions" that appears in the question progress indicator. But nope, it doesn't seem to change that either.

At this point, I'm inclined to think it's a buggy issue.

    Cheers... Rick
