is there a way to use a barcode scanner to advance an adobe captivate 5 module? we are creating some training modules on scanning barcodes, and it would be helpful to have the student use a barcode scanner to advance the captivate rather than the mosue when it was needed.

I would like to see this functionality too. I've used a program called VeiwletBuilder that recognizes the barcode imput as a mouse click and advances to the next screen, but it lacks in some features that Captivate has. It would be nice if a widget was devoloped that would do this.

It might be possible doing this using Flash and External Interface.

I've never personally seen this done. I think it would depend on whether or not the Barcode Scanner is somethign the PC would see as a user input device.  If so, you might be able to get it to work with Captivate, but I'm very doubtful.

what we hope to accomplish is to have the barcode scanner act as a mouse click. right now, we have a course where the mouse click simulates the scanner, but we're looking to use an actual barcode scanner, scan a barcode, and have captivate see it as a mouse click, advancing the module.
