Using a Play button to start a slide video

Hi

I am trying to get a play button to start a video playing which is on a slide. The play button was created using a smart shape. The video is set to hidden in the properties.

The On Success for the play button executes an advanced action. The advanced action is conditional where the answer is always true. The actions are to hide the button, show the video and continue.

The action works by hiding the button and playing the video. However, the video would appear to be playing, even while hidden. When I click the play button, it shows from the point at which it has played up to. So it I click play after 5 seconds on the slide, the video picks up at 5 seconds. Almost like it has been playing in the background from the time I view the slide.

Is there a way to stop the video from playing until the play button is clicked and the advance action is triggered? It's getting very frustrating. I have tried searching for an answer, but can't really find anything that will help.
