Question

Using CP 5.5, how to "Insert Question" text in a different location without manully moving text.

When I bring the questions in I want the Header, Question text and so on to be in a different location than when created by the "Insert Question" feature but I don't want to move them manually. There must be a template I can apply but I just cant find it. I'm sure it is so simple.

Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome,

It is very easy in 6 and later, because the Question slides use master slides that are directly editable in the master slide panel. But that is not yet the case for 5.5.

My first idea is that you change the location on one slide, and use the small curved arrow, top right of the Transform accordion in the Properties panel (not the Quiz Properties) to apply the changed location to all slides of that type?

Maybe others can pop in, I'm not direclty aware of another work flow.

Just to note that Lilybiri's mention of "not yet the case for 5.5" is no implication that it will be added to this version.

Captivate is now at version 7. I'd be shocked to hear Adobe were planning on retrofitting a new feature to an old version.

Bottom line is that if you want this functionality, you will need to consider upgrading.

Cheers... Rick

In Captivate versions prior to version 6.0 when Themes and Quiz Master slides were introduced, your best solution (other than upgrading) is to create a template that contains examples of each quiz question type set up just the way you want them to look.  Then use this template to spawn new project files, or copy and paste slides from template into the projects where you need them.

I agree with the others though, your ideal solution is to upgrade to the latest version of Captivate, preferably using the Subscription model so that when the next version comes out you will be able to get that immediately without extra cost.
