Using JavaScript to control playback speed on videos in Captivate

I have been trying to use JavaScript to control the playback speed of an event video using information I found on another thread: How to adjust the speed of a single video demo clip. While it seemed simple and the author even published a YouTube video about it, I have not been able to make it work. I believe I need to use an event video based on the information on this page Working with event videos in Adobe Captivate  and not a synchronized video, but other than that, I am not sure what I need to do to make it work. Even the JavaScript on Working with event videos in Adobe Captivate does not work for me, so I must be doing something wrong. I really want to give my users this ability.

    Hi Tara,

It looks as though this is possible as long as you're using Event Video and as long as you're publishing to HTML5.  Is this the case?  If you'd like to send me a cut down version of your project, I'd love to take a look and see if I can get it to work.  You can either PM me or send it via Google Drive to Jim Leichliter at g mail dot com.

Hey Jim, thanks for the reply! I AM using an Event Video but tried using an MSSV to see if that would work. I have mostly been previewing to browser but did publish once to see if that was why it seemed to not work. Other JavaScript a friend wrote to test the button worked in the preview to browser. He put JavaScript to give a message "Button working" when it was clicked, but we could not get the speed up or slow down to work. I will put the one slide in a new presentation and send it to you for review!! thanks again.
