Using macromedia serials

Hello.

We're owning two serials for Macromedia Captivate, purchased in 2013. It seems like they don't work with Adobe Captivate 2017. They do are registered as "Adobe Captivate" v7.0 in our products list in our profile, so we would like them to work.

How could we get Captivate 2017 to accept these serials ? Do we have to request for new serials / buy a new license ?

Thanks by advance.

Your old serial numbers are only going to allow you to install Captivate 7, not any later Captivate versions.

If you want to use the current version of Captivate 2017, you need to purchase a new license, or better yet, purchase a subscription for Captivate that you pay each year.  Then you can always be on the very latest version.

But macromedia captivate won't start at all due to it being unable to use/detect the recent versions of flash. So, if I translate well, it means that we're owning 2 serials that aren't usable at all anymore. That doesn't sound very pleasant.

Thanks for the answer anyway.

You will have to install an older version of the Flash Player. They are still available. Since I don't have CP7 anymore, cannot help you to define the exact version, maybe you can find it somewhere on the Adobe pages. Only in that situation will you be able to run the applications, however CP7 was certainly no longer macromedia! If my memory is correct, the last macromedia version of CP was 3 (or 2), certainly not 7.
