Using video for a slide background in Captivate 2017

I am trying to use a video to act as a slide background in Captivate 2017. I would then like to overlay buttons on top of the video. Is this possible and can someone point me to a good tutorial on how to do this?

Drop your video onto the stage and choose Multi Slide Synchronised Video. With Progressive Download selected, this will embed the video in sync with your timeline.

You can then add buttons/media on slide layers and they will work perfectly above the video.

Event video also works, if you select Auto Play and switch the skin to None.

Hi RH,

Hmm.. I didn't know that! I've tried this in the past with no luck. Safari loads all video in a separate window when published, so I assumed that it wouldn't work for any Apple device or screen when published. If the OP is OK with this limitation then your suggestion should work fine.  I usually link my videos with an I-frame to a media server so I've never really explored this option. Thanks for correcting me.

Cheers,

Steve

Hi Tyson,

Unfortunately no. Video always is the top loaded object in the timeline automatically and you can't place anything on top of it.

Cheers.
