Variables not staying in Advanced Actions

I've been having some issues this week with variables in Captivate 9 when used in Advanced Actions.

When I use the Assign function in an action to add a value to a variable then save my action, often the variable disappears after saving. This is happening about a third of time I use them. The same variables are used in other actions without the same issue.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? The only fix I've found is to create new variables and use those in place of the ones that don't save. The problem with that is I then have to update all the actions where the variables are used.

    Hello,

    This can happen if the name of the variables is the same as that of an object,

    check that is not the case.

    I suspect this is what has happened - the variables that were missing had the same name as the objects in the action. Strangely, other actions with both the variable and object have been okay, and after I changed the names of the objects the variables still wouldn't work in that particular action. I had to create a new action before it would work correctly.

    I haven't seen an issue like this myself.  But I would ask, what names did you use for the variables?  Is it possible these names might be conflicting with something in Captivate's underlying code.
