Version 5.5 - Acknowledgement Slide Using Hot Spot

Using 5.5, I am creating a project that requires an acknowledgement that will say something like, "I acknowledge that I have received these policies." The goal is that the learner cannot complete the training without completing the acknowledgement. I have created a hotspot quiz question and inserted a rectangle with my text and put the hotspot area over the rectangle.

When the user clicks the rectangle, the selection animation is a spinning blue wheel. I was able to change the .swf animation to the green check, but do not like the options. I would rather have an static check mark be shown when the user clicks the box, rather than an animation. Does anyone know a better way to do this?

I have a question very similar to ndivin01's. However, in my case, I'm using the question slide in a regular assessment. On the Hot Spot questions, I wanted something other than the spinning asterisk. There are some other options in the gallery but all the animations are on a loop. I'd like to to perform the animation once and then stop.

Anyone know of a way I can convert the .swf files back to .fla file or have any suggestions for an animation gallery somewhere out there?

What is the reason that you use a question slide for your goal? Do you attach a score to this question slide perhaps for reporting to a LMS?

Personally I would create a custom slide, avoid the question slides in this case because you have more control. Have a lot of examples on my blog. And even reporting a score will be possible but you'll need a bit of work to achieve this. You could have the checkmark in that case appearing with an effect...

I think you'll find that this quiz template is set up to expect an SWF. However, if you don't want an animated SWF, you just need to find a NON animated checkmark that you can save in SWF format to use. If you have Flash or another graphics editor such as Fireworks that allows you to save a graphic as SWF, just create your own checkmark and use that as the Hot Spot marker.
