Video best practices? - CP8

What do people recommend as best practices for inserting videos?

I have inserted videos as Multi-slide synchronized video with the option to "modify slide duration to accommodate video" checked. For video type, I chose Progressive Download, and inserted the video from my hard drive. Sometimes, it is choppy. I've tried it in SCORM cloud and in Litmos, our LMS.

I have found that it's quite dependent on the services you are using, bandwidth, etc. We are using an LMS in the cloud - Litmos - and it's pretty choppy.

However if you create an eLearning project for a customer and the video is a URL / encode to an external site, that customer's system may not allow that external link to work, meaning it would then need to be white-listed.

I would say make the video size as small as possible to avoid problems. There are a lot of variable e.g. you don't know what the bandwidth is that users will be using.
