Video Demo Screen Capture Issue

I am working with a trial version of Adobe Captivate 9. The Video Demo mode does not align with the objects on the browser. I have used Explorer and Chrome. I am using the Adobe Color CC website to practice and the camera icon does not appear; nor does the screen capture results accurately reflect the click points. Using screen capture apps is not new to me; I've tried changing the defaults on Captivate 9. What could be the cause? Thanks.

    Hi Steve,

The "red" outline capture window does not correctly align with the objects within my browser. When I click on the "Snap to Window" feature, it readjusts practically off the screen; nearly cutting off over 50% of my selected content.  Also, upon replaying the video, the mouse demonstrations do not reflect a click on the selected areas.

To address your suggestion, when I manually readjusted the "red" capture outline/rectangle, upon obtaining the outcome of the video demo, significant portions of the area is still omitted; at times, the icon, such as the camera icon, does not show.

After numerous attempts, I have decided to forego this feature. I have used at least a couple of screen capture products over the years, so I believe I may know what is causing this issue.  It could very well be a firewall issue.  If that is the case, I prefer to use another app or software for screen capture.  I will get my project done! :-)

I appreciate all who attempted to help me with this matter.

    Thanks for responding, Steve.

    Hi Itsmy,

That is a weird problem for sure. You are probably right about the firewall issue.

    Cheers,

    Steve

    Hi BDuckWorks,

It's not outdated video drivers; multiple monitors; nor capturing at a higher resolution than needed for playback or an outdated browser, etc.  Initially I used multiple monitors, but brought it down to one, but obtained the same results.

I used the Adobe Color CC website because I am doing a simulated training based upon a Captivate 9 / Lynda.com training program.  The exercise file has assets that co-align with this website.

Thanks for responding.  If you think of anything else, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Itsmy,

Hmm.. Interesting question. When you say "does not align with objects on the browser" is that in the capture, or the resulting video And when you say does not align do you meant the "red" outline capture window. If so you can adjust that to include the entire screen.

    Cheers,

    Steve

A few possible causes include: outdated video drivers; multiple monitors; capturing at a higher resolution than needed for playback; the site being coded for a specific version of an outdated browser (IE 6,7,8), or the site being coded for the latest browser release, MS Edge; etc..

Do you actually need to record the Adobe Color CC?

Is it possible to test the software using a desktop application, or a website where training will be required for your users?
