Video Express 2017 stopped working on Mac OS Catalina

Bizarrely, the Video Express software was working fine for me today on Catalina and, all of a sudden, it stopped doing so. I rebooted but it doesn't even launch. I tried re-downloading the English Mac version but it will not install because it is only 32 bit. Why it worked for a while and stopped is a mystery. There doesn't appear to be a Mac 64 bit version on the download site. Are there plans to release one?
