Question

Video in Captivate CS6 HTML5 controls?

I have an MP4 video that I have inserted and have published as HTML5.  It plays fine as a video.

I actually have two questions that would make things that much better.  It may be that I just don't know how to do what I want with it, but here are my questions anyway.

  1. How do I make the page advance automatically after the video completes?
  2. How can I add images to the page that are sync'd to the video?
    1. The video is positioned off to the upper right of the screen.  I inserted graphics at zero on the timeline and a different graphic at 20 seconds on the timeline.  The graphic that I am trying to insert is in the top layer of the timeline.  The problem is that it never shows up after publishing
    2. In timing properties for the video object I have the "Pause slide till end of video" checkbox turned off.

Our company has been struggling with using Captivate with iProducts since they came on the scene.  It seemed as though Captivate CS6 was the answer.  I can use it the way it is, but sure would like to see it a little more flexible when using video.

Hi frankhib,

Thanks for the post.

Please find the answers to the questions asked.

1. In Captivate, we have an option "Pause slide till end of video" for Video Objects, which when turned ON pauses the slide untill the Video is completly played and resumes to next slide on Video Completion.

2. Second issue you mentioned is not reproducible at our end. Could you please upload the project to acrobat.com and share the link to mahajan@adobe.com for better investigation.

Thanks,

Mayank

Mayank,

I found out what I was doing wrong by reading what was on the screen.

I have a remaining question however.

I inserted my video as a “Multi-Slide Synchronized Video.” The “Distribute video across slides radio button” is checked. Everything works exactly as you would expect except for one thing; Captivate went to the second slide, but how can I make the video continue to play upon entry?

If I use Even Video then I can click the Auto Play checkbox and the video plays upon entry, but then none of the synchronization works.

Thanks for your help.
