Video shows in preview, but not published content

I've created an e-learn lesson in Captivate 9 that also includes a couple of videos. I've inserted the video using Media > Video link. I'm able to view it properly in design mode and it plays perfectly when I preview HTML5 in browser. However, for whatever reason, it does not want to play when I publish it. It shows a gray screen where the video should be and then moves to the following slide. I've tried converting it to flv format and inserting that, but still nothing.

Anyone experience this before?

I tried converting to flv format and just publishing to Flash...but that didn't work. I tried using the encoder to reconvert the file to MP4, but the problem there is the video is very large and none of the options allow me to maintain the same size. I did check the folder and the MP4 is in there...

If you are testing this on your local hard drive, the issue could be caused by browser security (or Flash Global Security in the case of SWF) blocking the link to the video.  Try uploading the content to a web server that is enabled to play MP4 videos and test from there.

What did you use to convert the video?  I remember having a similar issue a few months ago where the video played in preview mode, but after publishing and loading into the LMS the video only played a few seconds and then froze.  Had to use the video converter through Captivate and had to make the video a ".mp4" which allowed it to work.

What is the published output? I see a contradiction: you talk about Preview HTML5 in Browser, but later on about FLV which is only supported for SWF output. For HTML it is normally mp4.

Are those videos embedded (event video) or will you stream them? If they are embedded, did you point to them with a relative path and include them in the uploaded package? Normally when publishing you should have seen a warning about that.
