Videos seem to be transparent ?

Hello,

I have a existing .cptx-file in which I want to import a Video demo. I tried several ways to 'import' my video, but for some reason, it always seems to be in a transparent overlay of my Master Slide. This is what I did (in Captivate 😎 :

  • I created my Video Demo from within my .cptx-file by clicking 'File - Record new Video Demo'. That way, a seperate .cpvc-file was made. In my .cptx-file, I selected the slide on which I wanted to show the video demo. Then I inserted it by clicking 'Insert - CPVC Slide'. Result: a transparent video ... Both my video and my master slide seem to be at a 50% transparency...

  • I wanted to verify if I had the same problem when I inserted a normal video file (no .cpvc). So I published my Video demo as a .mp4 which I inserted. Result: that works out fine, but isn't very practical : every time i want to make a tiny modification, i'll have to do tat in my .cpvc and publish it again. Not the most effective way ...

  • To be sure the problem wasn't caused by my Video demo-settings, I recorded a new Software simulation, which i tried to insert in two ways:
    1. first following the same procedure as described here above (video demo). Result: transparent video
    2. secondly by selecting the created slides in my software simulation and by copy-pasting them in the .cptx-file where i wanted to show the video. Result: transparent video...

Does anyone know what could be the problem? Is it linked to my Master Slide? But if so, why does it work out fine when I insert my video as a .mp4-file ?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions/answers!

Simon

Correct answer Lilybiri

Why do you import a published video demo instead of recording it immediately in the cptx project, with Slides (big button), Video Demo? I suspect indeed an issue with the master slides. Is the Blank daughter master slide indeed blank or did you edit it? That master slide is used for software simulation slides and video demo slides.

After numerous tries, i restarted completely and created a new master slide. That solved the problem. Thank you very much for your reply!
