Viewing . EXE Format Projects

Captivate v5.5

In order to capture the full screen of our website in order to create my training material, my project size has to be 1150x863.

I have a global audience with many different monitors / laptops etc

When I publish my projects to our LMS (.swf) I issue instructions on how to increase / decrease the window to ensure each learner is able to "resize" the window to see the project.

When I publish the same project in .exe format for access via our Intranet site - there would appear to be no way to "resize" the window in order to make sure my global audience can adjust the window size to fit their monitor / laptop screen - and this is a problem.

Is there anyway to adjust the window size of an .exe file viewed via our Intranet ?

Is the only solution to rescale the project down to say 800x600 after I have created it ?

Any help (in simple language please) will be most gratefully received.

Noel

I am in Western Australia, and it's just gone 11.00 PM.  (I need to get a life!)

It's an odd request that they would want EXE files on their Intranet because most organisations DON'T want EXE files anywhere on the network because many EXE's tend to contain viruses, so the corporate anti virus software is usually likely to prevent them from either being uploaded or downloaded.

In simple language: No.  EXE is set at the size fixed by your project dimensions.

But since SWF isn't all that different from EXE (other than the fact that the EXE has it's own Flash Player built in and the SWF relies on the web browser's Flash plugin) why not just use the SWF?  At least you CAN easily scale that.

I thought you were in Australia and therefore in the middle of the night...or did I guess wrong?

Thanks for the reply. I was told all material on our Intranet has to be in .exe format.

Now I have your reply, I will ask why this is, and is it not possible to use SWF?

    Thanks again...wherever you are!
