When I go to view my project 'from this slide' the first of the three text boxes that I have set to appear 1, 2 and 3 seconds (the slide is set to 4 secs) stops and to get the other two text boxes to appear I have to press the play icon. Why is this please?

You have two buttons on that slide, and one of those buttons has a pausing point at 1,5secs which is before the appearance of the last two objects on the timeline. Change the timing of the pause to after the appearance of the last object, 3secs will be OK. Do this in the Timing accordion of the Properties panel of that button or drag the button line (vertical thin line on its timeline) to after 3 secs.
